But each time Hamas stays quiet, Israel retaliates and kills inocent civilians, yesterday Israel killed a mother and her 4 young kids, the pictures on TV made me sick to the stomach. I think it's your responsibilty to speak with your government offcials and peace groups like "Peace Now" to end all this violence. The question I raise about the petition is. . ."Who will they send it to?". . .and since whoever that is hasn't done anything yet why would they do anything now?
Why is Hamas shelling Sderot? Who in Sderot is shooting back? What are our available solutions? Is there only one? Stopping the tit-for-tat shelling and rocket fire? Or is there some other more subtle, or ingenious method available to the peace-loving citizens of both areas that will resolve any differences that exist now? And stop the senseless killing. The people on both sides of the border have "issues". . .unless everyone gets killed on either side of the border than shelling or rocketing seems to be an inane approach to problem resolution.
I am absolutely thrilled but not surprised that a Palestinian and a Jew have combined to work together towards finding a solution and are using a Blog to do so.
I'm also totally amazed that both sides are relying on a World power to assist them when that very same power is in disrepute with many of your neighbors who could be assisting you in finding true peace. . perhaps you should fire your present negotiators and find someone or some country that can truly help you?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5968220524668733495.post-36911402971815071072008-04-23T10:00:00.000+03:002008-04-23T10:00:00.000+03:00I feel for your desire to have peace. Being fired ...I feel for your desire to have peace. Being fired upon from both sides will do that; however, where is the outcry in Gaza for peace. The people in Gaza elected the Hamas and unfortunatly for them; they, got what they asked for. Why don't they complain to the Hamas leaders. If they stop firing rockets at Isreal, the reprisals will stop. If it does not stop, then the world opinion will force it to stop. The Palestinian leaders in Gaza won't even talk to the Israelis, much less pursue peace. How can you expect to get any agreements in that situation? You can't, and that's what the Hamas leadership in Gaza is angling for. You can be sure that even though the people in Gaza have no fuel and are running out of food, the leadership is all still well-stuffed. I have a blog, too. I've firstly contacted with this conflict when I read the "Our Sacred Land: Voices of The Palestine-Israeli Conflict", wrote by Kenizé Mourad. Since that, I've been trying to talk about this as much as I can, with as many people as I can. Here in Portugal most people don't even know what this conflict is about.
I think this blog is a great idea, to show the world the conflict seen by the two sides. Nobody can accuse you of parciality!
Go on with this!

Congratulations! I'm Basque-Canadian, I was about to go to a kibbutz in the sixties because we truly believed that Israel was the land of "milk and honey" and even though we weren't jewish many people of my generation did go. However, now- a-days, the situation has gotten so much out of hand and the situation is sooooo unfair that it's shameful. There are so many Israelis pro Palestinians that are willing to come to a peace agreement but, unfortunately, the governments are corrupt. Good luck. I like direct perception in which I can participate. Thank you for your honest, and direct reports. Here's my two cents worth.

What is up with the whole Palestine/Israel conflict, and why have we all allowed/supported/sympathized-with it to go unresolved for so long? The dragging on of this issue seems to discredit its importance. It is like my peers expecting me to sympathize with haters of my nation's horrible president, it is such old news that I cannot help the situation by exhibiting further hate. All of my life, I've heard stories about 'Israelites' and 'Palestinians' arguing, and projecting objects to secure some land. What happened to where I lay my head is home? I've been alive for 25 years, and I have got to believe there are enlightened 25year olds immersed in this conflict who can disregard it as a slightly petty, materialistic? rediculous? waste of energy and time, and learn to define their own lives in love. I try every day to live my own life independent of what Merican culture tells me is true. Let's hear about it. I write this with love and honesty, why sugar coat, empty calories. does anybody out there dig?evanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02893028910810951842noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5968220524668733495.post-75990549036464458362008-04-17T13:22:00.000+03:002008-04-17T13:22:00.000+03:00you're doing us all a service telling us how you l...you're doing us all a service telling us how you live there, thank you for sharing your life with us, i treasure my own after reading your blogMaria Verivakihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10440852486788630957noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5968220524668733495.post-65819331852876794152008-04-17T09:39:00.000+03:002008-04-17T09:39:00.000+03:00Hi guys, you are putting a brave effort in showing...Hi guys, you are putting a brave effort in showing us the reality which the media doesnt show or the politicians don't speak . . .
